HEREFORD, TX — FirstBank Southwest (FBSW) announces the retirement of Mike Schueler, Market President, and appointment of Dodd Scroggin, Senior Vice President, Commercial/Agricultural Lender, effective March 1, 2024.
After 25 years of dedicated service, Mr. Schueler has decided to retire, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of leadership, innovation, and community engagement. Under his guidance, FirstBank Southwest Hereford experienced significant growth and achieved countless milestones, solidifying its position as a trusted banking partner in the region.
During his tenure, Mr. Schueler played a pivotal role in cultivating strong relationships with customers, local businesses, and community organizations. His unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and his passion for supporting the community have been instrumental in the bank’s success.

Stepping into the role of Market President, Dodd Scroggin brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the banking industry. Mr. Scroggin joined the FirstBank Southwest family in 2019 as Vice President Commercial/Agricultural Lender. In 2021, while growing his loan portfolio, Dodd was promoted to Senior Vice President still serving as a Commercial/Agricultural lender. During this time, he has served Hereford area commercial and ag customers assisting in growing their businesses and meeting their financial goals. Prior to joining FBSW, Mr. Scroggin worked in eastern Iowa as a lender for 31 years serving commercial, agricultural, consumer and real estate clients in the tall corn state. He has worked for three banks in his career and was at the last employer 22 years. Dodd dedicates himself to community service and is currently the treasurer for the Kiwanis Club of Hereford and is on the Hereford Planning and Zoning board. He has also served on the Deaf Smith County Chamber of Commerce board.
