Donates $37,000 to the United Way of Amarillo and Canyon
AMARILLO, TX – FirstBank Southwest (FBSW), a dedicated local and community-focused financial institution, participates in the United Way’s Workplace Giving program. When a FBSW employee donates via payroll deduction at the “Fair Share” level, which is 1 hour of pay per month, they receive an Earned Time Off (ETO) day. For 2024, 42% of FBSW Amarillo employees pledged funds to United Way of Amarillo & Canyon, and have raised a total of $34,355.60, exceeding the goal of $30,000. This is an annual increase of $7,929.69 from 2023. As a result, FirstBank Southwest President and CEO, Andy Marshall, agreed to take pies in the face.
“If I am going to take a pie to the face, the United Way is what I am going to take it for. We asked the Bank to meet the goal and I would take a pie. They didn’t meet the goal; they crushed the goal! That’s a testament to how much we care for our community,” said Andy Marshall, President and CEO of FirstBank Southwest.
During FirstBank Southwest’s “Pie the CEO” event on October 31st, attendees had the opportunity to bid on the chance to pie Mr. Marshall directly in the face. The top two bidders had the honor of delivering the pies, in addition to the 3 others who won the raffle also got to deliver pies. The bidding process raised an additional $2,834, bringing the United Way total donation to $37,000.

Proceeds from the “Pie the CEO” event are going directly to benefit the United Way of Amarillo and Canyon, an organization that works tirelessly to improve the lives of those in need within our local community.
United Way of Amarillo and Canyon play a crucial role in addressing pressing community needs, supporting health and human service organizations, and promoting community-wide solutions to improve lives.
