CANYON, TX – FirstBank Southwest (“FBSW”) will officially open a full-service banking center in Canyon on Monday, May 18, operating from a temporary location at 305 15th Street as the bank prepares for its future permanent facility in the community.
The temporary location will offer the full range of personal and commercial banking services, providing immediate access to relationship-driven banking as FirstBank Southwest establishes its long-term presence in the Canyon community.
To mark the opening, FirstBank Southwest will host a full week of community events:
- Monday, May 18 – Ribbon cutting and community cookout at the new temporary location beginning at 11:30 a.m. (open to the community)
- Tuesday, May 19 – Appreciation luncheon for local veterans and first responders at the Cole Community Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (open to veterans and first responders)
- Wednesday, May 20 – Evening meet & mingle on The Square at Sayakomarn’s from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. (open to the community)
- Thursday, May 21 – Summer Reading Program Celebration with the Canyon Public Library beginning at 4:30 p.m., including snow cones, giveaways, and a live reading by Canyon Market President Paul De Leon (open to the community)
During opening week, FirstBank Southwest will also support local hunger relief efforts through a partnership with Fill with Hope. For every new account opened at the Canyon branch that week, the bank will donate $15. Customers who choose a Canyon ISD school spirit debit card can boost the donation to Fill with Hope by an additional $5.
